I think that is a reasonable price especially since they set up, tear down, and the tables come with table linens. My parents rented tents, tables, and chairs and they spent about this much but the tables didnt come with the linens. they didnt even have as many chairs as you're going to have or a stage or dance floor. I almost went with a tent rental and a tent with sides and no dance floor was going to cost over $820 dollars. The places I checked out would come and deliver (let's say you have a Saturday wedding) on Friday or Thursday morning (if you asked) and then break everything done that Monday. Giving you enough time to decorate and do what you need to do. Your quote is average for your size. Though, I do suggest looking around some more. Most places will drive a good amount of miles, so check a little outside of your range too.





The only reason we changed our minds is because our tent would be set up on grass, and tent floor is VERY costly. We were scared if it rained enough the week before then our tent wouldn't be good enough for our guests, just in case we found something different that cost only $200 more and no worries about what to do in case of bad weather!
I think that is a great deal. We were quoted about $350 for just the tent. Our wedding planner who actually owns our venue is providing the food, tables, linens, is doing the decor, chairs, and clean up for like $1200. I think you are getting a good deal!! Make sure they have nice clean tents and durable tables and chairs and clean linens. smart shopper ;)
I think that is a reasonable price. I am paying $2300.00 for a tent, side walls and dance floor...But I had to get a HUGE tent to have room for 250+ guest, so the tent alone is $1400.00. thank goodness I don't have to worry about renting tables and chairs, or I would be over the $3,000.00 mark:)
Well I think that is a deal! I looked into tents when we thought we were having an outdoor wedding, and the tent alone was $1000, and another $1000 for the floor!!!!! And that didn't include any chairs or linens.

One thing to consider is whether you have to have a white tent or not. In Pennsylvania, I found that the white wedding tents were 1.5 times to double the price of the striped tents. We decided to get a yellow and white striped tent cos it was a lot cheaper. Also, we're having a casual picnic style wedding, so I actually prefer the stripes- I think they're festive.





A few things I learned in the rental process:


1. Auctioneers often rent tents for cheaper than the dedicated party rental places.





2. People usually rent tents in pieces- the awning, the sides, the sides with windows, etc. are all priced separately. Be sure to get prices for everything.





3. There are pole tents and frame tents. Pole tents are cheaper (those are the ones with the staking).

Find a sale and buy smaller tents and put them together to form a large tent if you want.





As far as the dance floor get cheap linoleum or parquet flooring on sale and install it onto plywood then lock them together to form a dance floor. That's all the rented dance floors really are anyway.

Getting married and tent rental prices are just way too much. Looking to buy instead, any ideas of where to go?

Tents are ridiculously expensive. However buying one is high too. Think about what you really need. When is your wedding? What needs to be covered? Can you have the reception some place that already has some things built? For example a covered picnic area already.





Obviously you want the food to be covered. Ask around--several of your friends might already have one. Otherwise to buy one--all sports stores have them. REI, Dick's Sporting Goods, Walmart, Target. However they run about $80 each. What do you really need to have covered or look at places that have an indoor option.





It may not look as nice but for example at many parks Just in case of rain they do have a gym that you can move the wedding reception into.Getting married and tent rental prices are just way too much. Looking to buy instead, any ideas of where to go?
I don't know how large of one you need but e-bay has some good prices on tents. You could probably resell it after the wedding.





Rethink buying one. Get the rental company to throw in delivery and set up.

I rented a large tent and it was about $600. They gave options for lighting, walls that closed in case of bad weather, etc. All the add-ons will change the price. Look into the rental companies near where you live and call them for pricing. Depending on what the tent is for, you may need to rent a floor as well. I did and it looked great.
I didn't rent a tent but I would start calling around to some of the party rental places in your general area and ask for their costs on different tent sizes (they'll be able to tell you around what size you need for that number of people), if they deliver to your area, and delivery pricing.

I rent tents quit a bit for catering BBQ. In the southeast the best prices I found on a tent (and you would need about a 20 X 40 tent) runs at $400.00 plus average of $60 - $80 dollars to deliver, set up, and break down. This also depends upon how far they have to drive and the price could go up higher on this if it is to far. A 20 X 40 tent would easily hold 9 tables of seating for 6 per table, plus 16 foot table for buffet.
